Background

 

A native of Carroll County, Georgia, Mrs. Denise Brown holds a Bachelor of Music degree in Vocal Performance from Wesleyan College of Macon, Georgia.

Personal Repertoire

 

Featured Soloist

Denise has been a featured soprano soloist for numerous performances of major works including Handel’s Messiah, Mendelsson’s Elijah, Vivaldi’s Gloria, Rutter’s Requiem and Magnificat, Nelson and Farrell’s Saviour, A Modern Oratorio. 

Musicals

Mrs. Brown has performed a variety of operatic and musical roles including Gretel in the Humperdinck’s Hansel and Gretel, Narrator and Mrs. Potiphar in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Minstrel in Once Upon a Mattress, and Godspell.  She enjoyed performing in the chorus of La Cenerentola with the Peach State Opera.

Professional Choirs 

Denise was honored to sing the world premier Prelude to the Divine Conversation for Soprano, Choir and Organ by Atlanta based Nickitas J. Demos, commissioned by Collegium Vocale' of Atlanta. 

In addition to performances with Collegium Vocale, Mrs. Brown has appeared as soloist with the State University of West Georgia, the Carroll Symphony Orchestra and Festival Chorus, the Carroll County Community Chorus, and the Cherokee Chorale, and most recently the Rome Symphony Orchestra.

Mrs. Brown began teaching private voice and piano lessons while in college in 1987. She is an encourager, seeking to see her students thrive in lessons while learning valuable life skills.
